A safer way to pay and get paid.

Wlbr puts the payment safely in the middle. The buyer funds the payment, the seller knows it’s there, and the funds stay protected until the work or sale is approved.

Payments that protect both sides.

No paying first and hoping. No handing something over and hoping you’ll get paid.

Why Wlbr?

The awkward bit is always the payment.

You’ve agreed on the job. Or the car. Or the project. Or the thing you’re buying from someone you’ve never met.

Then comes the uncomfortable question:

Who goes first?

Pay upfront and the buyer carries the risk.

Start the work or hand something over before getting paid, and the seller carries it instead.

Wlbr removes that leap of faith.

  • Buyer:

“I don’t want to pay first.”

  • Wlbr:

    You don’t have to.

  • Seller:

“I don’t want to go first either.”

The payment is funded by the buyer, held independently by Wlbr, then released when the agreed outcome is met.

How it works

Put the payment in the middle.

Wlbr gives both sides certainty without making either side take the first risk.

  1. Step 1: Agree it.

Agree the price, what’s being provided and, where needed, any milestones or release conditions.

  2. Step 2: Fund it.

The buyer pays bank-to-bank into Wlbr’s dedicated client trust account, where the funds are held securely.

  3. Step 3: Release it.

Once the work, service or sale is approved, the funds are released to the seller’s New Zealand bank account.

Protection works both ways.

For Buyers

Better for the person paying.

Your payment doesn’t disappear the moment you pay.

Fund the payment knowing it will be held safely rather than going straight to the seller. Release it when what you agreed to has been delivered.

If something goes wrong before release, the affected money stays put while it is resolved.

For Sellers

Better for the person getting paid.

Know the funds are there before you go any further.

No screenshots of bank transfers. No wondering whether the invoice will eventually get paid.

Wlbr confirms the funds are there before you start, deliver or hand over, then pays them to your bank once the payment is released.

Where your money sits.

Don’t take our word for it.Follow the funds.

When a payment is funded, the funds don’t become Wlbr’s, and they don’t go straight to the seller.

They are held separately in a dedicated NZD client trust account at BNZ until there is an agreed reason for them to move.

  • Dedicated client trust account

Client funds are held separately from Wlbr’s operating funds.

  • Bank-to-bank payments

Payments are authorised through the buyer’s own banking environment using Akahu open banking.

  • Funds freeze during a dispute

If a payment is disputed, the affected funds stay held while the issue is reviewed.

  • Independent backstop

Wlbr is a registered New Zealand financial service provider and a member of FSCL, an independent dispute resolution scheme.

What is Wlbr?

It’s not complicated.

It simply means we, a trusted third party, hold the funds until the agreed conditions of a transaction are met.

The seller can see it’s there, but it only moves once the agreed conditions are met.
